Yellow Window

from I Want! I Want! by Moon Moon Moon

/

about

Riding my bike back home in the deepest of nights, I got the coziest feeling by looking at the houses with their glowing windows. I wanted nothing more than to enter a warm room.

Then came the (depressing) realization that the moment I went inside my room I wanted nothing more than to go outside. In 2014, this felt like a big revelation and eventually, it became the underlying theme of the album. Wanting stuff, forever, but never quite getting there.

lyrics

lyrics:

Yellow window,
I reached out to you and a burning house hurt my hand.

Can’t run, can’t stay,
I don’t want a body to take me. Wherever I go, I’ll be here.

Yellow window,
I put on a light but it’s not the same.
I got my backpack and I walked out there.

Yellow window, you know I love you but you’re a two-faced beast.
A moon in the sky with the sky at your feet. To dream about life, forgetting to see anything.
